Brides

While each wedding photoshoot captures one of the most significant moments in the lives of brides and grooms, these images are also, ironically, among the most frequently discarded and forgotten. In this series, I focus specifically on the brides—appropriating and reinterpreting their photographs—because weddings, culturally and visually, revolve around them. This is a highly gendered space in which women are expected not only to shine but also to undergo a profound transformation of identity.
