Flowers and Leaves

The fabrics in this series once belonged to my abuelita, remnants from her sewing atelier in Colombia. I used them to alter found portraits of women, interrupting and transforming their original context. These textiles—often linked to femininity and domestic labor—carry traces of the invisible work traditionally expected from women. Through this intervention, the portraits speak to memory, inheritance, and the roles women have been asked to perform.
