This climbing vine has stems that twine and leaves that are ovate to somewhat heart-shaped. Once the roots have become established, removing the vine can be a challenge. In late summer, clusters of fleshy red berries appear, providing a food source for birds. The vine grows abundantly on the edges of woods, among hedges, stream banks, around fences, building facades, electric poles, and almost anywhere as long as its natural habitat is preserved. Male and female plants grow separately.
